JL50 Review

A SciFi which is nicely blended with an investigative thriller.  Overall good acting efforts by both lead actors Abhay Deol and Pankaj Kapoor.

This series is like a cream biscuit. If you do not like a biscuit, you can just lick the cream. Similarly, if you do not like SciFi then watch it as a suspense thriller.

POSITIVES

A fresh-looking series that does not have goons, abuses, or sexual acts. It is pure story-telling.  It may not be the best SciFi film but it is worth appreciating. Background music is catchy and enhances its impact. A stellar acting cast also makes this worth watching.

NEGATIVES

Some scenes have continuity issues and some sequences look like they were shot in a hurry and look like an imature attempt. Special Effects that a series of this caliber deserves were not up to the mark.

WHO SHOULD WATCH THIS

One who loves SciFi or Investigative thriller and wants to watch something fresh.

WHO SHOULDN'T WATCH THIS

Those who judge Indian SciFi by saying "aesa kaha hota hai feku hai" but will believe the same fact if it is shown in Hollywood. Also if you already have watched series like Dark then you might find the story quite predictable.
